Ko Au Te Awa

On Thursday the class went to the River Talks. I was so confused about what we were doing since we arrived there.

When I came I saw a man inside the creek talking Maori. Afterwards we talked about how to keep our river clean. There's a lot of pollution in our river. We decided we should not throw rubbish out our car windows and keep our rubbish inside our pocket.

Afterwards my favourite show was a man drumming all sorts of beats. It was so thrilling we got to dance to the beat. Unfortunately I was so nervous to join in.

Working With Metal!

On Wednesday the year 8's and Saint Pius attended Mr Grundy's Woodwork Workshop.

I had to trace my drawing with a pencil and insert it into a piece of wood. Later on Mr Grundy showed us his deadly machine. It was so fierce the blade was moving fifty times per second! Luckily,  the teacher has a key to it on and off.

My design was a cross. It has sharp edges. Mr Grundy had to be careful with my design. He boiled some special metal called pewter and poured the liquid into the gaps in the piece of wood.
