Three facts that I learnt about New Zealand.
1. New Zealand has a population of over 4.4 million people!
2.New Zealand is a small country, but same size to Great Britain or Japan.
3. Over three-quarters of the population in New Zealand live on the north side of the island, only one-third with the rest of the population live in Auckland.
Kia ora Robati,
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see that you have joined the Winter Learning Journey programme this holiday. That's awesome!!!
I really enjoyed reading the three facts that you posted about New Zealand. Did any of the information that you read surprise you? I must admit that I was surprised to read that over three-quarters of the population of New Zealand live on the north island and only one-quarter live on the south island. I wonder what it is like to live down south...
Have you ever met anyone from the south island of New Zealand or been there yourself? I have visited a few of the cities and towns in the south island (Nelson, Greymouth, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill) but I have never lived there. Apparently it is quiet a bit colder in the south island than it is up here in Auckland. I heard on the radio today, in fact, that is was -8 degrees in Southland (the bottom of the south island) today and that much of the area was covered in snow and ice. Yikes! I think that we're pretty lucky to live up here in Auckland...
What do you think? Would you like to move down to Southland and live amongst the ice and snow?
I hope that you'll have time to keep blogging with us this holiday, Robati. I always enjoy reading your blog posts!!
Until next time,
Rachel :)
