We created a slide show as a group - Prudence, Malia, Suliasi, Isabell, Limitite and Robati. We also created a flag of the USA because we are learning about the Olympics.

What did I learn about financial literacy

I learnt that if you want to save money and buy things, you have to pay lower prices and don’t spend money on the things that you don’t need. Also if you want money, you have to work for it. You have to get a job, do some chores.

Nikki and Sigred told us about our identity. Identity is all about yourself, like what your passport will tell about yourself. Nikki disguised herself as Sigred with Sigred’s identity card so she could pretend to take her money and her things.

We did a skit, like a play, when someone was a borrower and another person was a … a thief!  Someone has borrowed a disc but didn’t return it, so the person that owned the disc was mad.  Not a good borrower!

Nikki and Sigred told us about how to keep our homes safe. They said that we have to keep our smoke alarms working.

Gardening was fun!

On Tuesday I stayed at school and started planting. We planted lavender, poppies, sunflowers, Buchananii’s, golden stars, frosted curls and flowers. We had buckets, spades, shovels, a watering can and rulers for measuring. We had to tap and squeezes the pots. Then we grabbed the top to pull the plant out. We had buckets for spare dirt. We used the dirt for left-overs just in case we ran out. When we planted all of the plants, we got to water them. When we were watering we had to go back and forwards for water. After we had done watering we had to clean up the dirt and mud from the concrete.  

Snag Golf!

On Thursday we met a man named Mr Jae. He came to school to teach us how to play snag golf. He told us the rules and told us how to putt. He told us how to  aim to the target and get the tennis ball into the hoop but first we had to go through some rules. Don’t talk when he is talking. When he blows the whistle you have to freeze and the most important one is you have to Listen to him. He gave us three tennis balls to get in the target. Me and my buddy got over four snags then we had to get the tennis ball into the hoop. Solomone and I were buddies. I got two balls in the hoop and he got one in the hoop so we got up to three balls in the hoop. Also we had to get the ball into the target. We had to say snag when we got it in the target. I got four points, my buddy got three. We added up to seven points and then the time was up.
